Poorly rendered shots of Alex’s hair at the moment that I’m working on for the XGen workshop…
It takes a very long time and I’m only making the base at the moment. I was struggling to get the hang of it to begin with, but I’ve found that starting the hair from back to front has so far been much easier for me
At the moment she looks kinda like Walder Frey so I need to finish this when I get the chance
Month: March 2019
Winter Ident (Cleaned)
Cleaned the lines on for my part of the Winter Ident for Finger Industries. The next step is just to colour in my bit and then I should be done, maybe fix a few things here and there to make the animation flow a little bit better, most of our group is working hard to do their parts too.
Getting the rolling log character to look like it was rolling was really hard, and because I didn’t want the flow to change too much I just drew him three times in three different ‘roll positions’ and I’ll add smear frames in places when doing the colouring.
Winter Ident Cleaning (Live Brief)
Currently working on cleaning the end of our winter animation, this is what I have done so far.
Puppet for Animate
Got the email from Teagan to make a character for the animate session, and since I missed last session, not sure if I did this properly, but decided to use Mercedes for the rig. I like how it looks for sure, and did a pose test
All these layers tho…
Figure Drawing #1
Figure drawings from yesterday gonna try do this more often, as well as study other things to improve my art/animation like perspective, values etc
Rochelle Sculpt Head
I sculpted the head for the model of Rochelle I’m working on but forgot to post it before I started working on the body. The hair isn’t going to be like that in the final renders, I’m going to try experimenting with XGen when we start the sessions, so those hair sculpts are there as guides which I see a lot of people do in their processes.

Winter Ending (redo)
The ending of the Winter animation needed to be redone so that it flowed better, so I went ahead and edited the ending
I feel like this flows much better
Winter clothing
Matt (one of my group mates) asked me to animate the clothing on the character for the Winter scene in the Flip project, so I did just that owo
He animated everything else
Rochelle – Outfit Concept
I’m going to be working on a personal character model/rig as well over the next few weeks/months of my character Rochelle… did a few drawings thinking of different outfits she wears in my story. Hopefully with this my character modelling, rigging, texturing and rendering skills will improve 🙂
Planning on getting the foundation sculpted before the 22nd in time for Rob’s XGen sessions on hair in Maya
Jack Morph
Working on a morph animation of my character Jack over time
First image is the cleaner version of it, I feel like I was able to get a little bit more personality in each of his different forms/designs over time (the eye roll in the 3rd form, the inattentiveness in the 4th and the confidence in the 5th)
Not a fan of the colouring tools on TVPaint… so I’ll try and colour it in Photoshop or Animate
End animations (Flip TV)
End animations, my contribution for the FlipTV ident with my group
Just waiting on info on what we need to do next
